Ashalaja Has Only One Family Head - Mr Solomon Mintah Fumes

The Traditional Leader, Family Head, Elders and People of the entire Ashalaja Community were engaged in a colourful event to commemorate this year's "Homowo" Festival in peace and unity as all and sundry were seen charged in a spirit of unity, rallied around the palace to mark the "Homowo" Festival.

Furthermore traditional leader's in collaboration with other Elders of the Community knowing the times in which the country, as well as the global village live in, because of the deadly Corona virus Disease, made provisions for hand washing and keeping to social distancing protocols as prescribed by the government aimed at containing the spread of the virus.

Speaking in a News Conference,the substantive Head of the Akwanor Royal Family of Ashalaja, Mr. Solomon Mintah Aquaah, started by praising the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akuffo-Addo and his government and other stakeholders as far as the COVID-19 Pandemic is concerned, for prescribing an all important health and safety protocols aimed at containing the spread of the disease, saying the Ashalaja community obeyed all of the proposed protocols whiles celebrating the "Homowo" Festival and indeed found it helpful.

He therefore advised his fellow neighbouring towns who will equally be celebrating the "Homowo" Festival to also abide by the above protocols in order to have a healthy celebration devoid of any record of anyone contracting the deadly virus.

With Election 2020 just some few months away, the Family Head, seized the opportunity to caution the youths in particular and the entire Ghanaian populace in general to desist from acts of violence that is capable of marring the peaceful state of the country at present.

Adding; Elections is an opportunity to the electorates to make a decision and a choice but not an avenue for fighting and acts of violence.

On his part, Nii Akwanor IV, Chief of Ashalaja, was quick to debunk the assertion of "Chiefs feeling reluctant to release parcels of land for developmental projects by Governments", saying he is ever ready to partner the Government by releasing lands to be used for projects that will argument the development of Ashalaja and thus ; ensure to the benefits of the good people of the community and its surrounding townships.

The Traditional Leader seized the opportunity to appeal to Government to provide the Ashalaja community with Senior High Schools, pipes borne water as well as Health Centres amongst other developmental projects to hasten the development journey of Ashalaja.

Nii Akwanor expressed his heart felt gratitude to the entire community and his elders and other opinion Leaders of Ashalaja for their continued collaboration and efforts at making this year's festival chalk such a huge success and in peace and oneness.
