*NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE PRIVATE SCHOOL TEACHERS SELECTED FOR THE COMMOM CORE PROGRAMME*

Story Reported by Gideon Kotey

The National Council of Private School Teachers (N-COPST) is very proud to inform our members that prior to the press release dated, 6th January, 2020, which followed after the letter to the Private Education Coalition Committee (PECC),

we want our members (The 308 selected trainees for the CCP training) to know that some respected and highly acclaimed members of PECC raised concerns that consensus could be reached through proper negotiations between National Council of Private School Teachers (N-COPST) and Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS).

The following are the proposals that N-COPST seeks to bring to the negotiation table with GNACOPS for the benefit of the aspiring trainees:

1. That GNACOPS will issue invitation letters to the 308 prospective trainees through N-COPST.

2. That GNACOPS will bear the transportation (T&T), accommodation and feeding costs of all the prospective trainees

3. That GNACOPS will pay each trainee a travel allowance.

4. That GNACOPS shall provide safety and security incentives (Travel Insurance) for members travelling to the training centre for the five day training.

5. That GNACOPS will compensate trainees who will not be selected as Master Trainers.

We,  the Executives of the N-COPST, deem it not fitting for any private school teacher in Ghana to attend the training session (CCP program) being organized by GNACOPS on the 11th January, 2020 until proper negotiations and arrangements are made for the good of the aspiring trainees
