*Public schools can close their schools whilst we continue with our work* - *Mr Enoch Gyetuah revealed*

**Reopening of schools: You can recommend for closure of public schools not private schools- GNACOPS replies GNAT*

The Ghana national Council of private schools, GNACOPS, has fully replied the Ghana National Association of Teachers,GNAT, about the fact that they can advise the government to close down public schools but not private schools.

The sole decision taken by some teacher unions to advising the government to close down schools again, just after few hours of reopening of schools is just unfortunate and uncouth.

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has in a release  thrown its weight behind various institutions calling for re-closure of basic schools due to lack of personal protective Equipments, PPE,s.

Contrary to their request and recommendation, the Ghana National Council of private schools, GNACOPS, has firmly and strongly spoken against re-closure of schools since private schools in the country are ready and have the expertise to manage the current situation.

According to the council, schools have been on lockdown for almost ten months whilst other activities go on in the country.

This to a higher level will affect  learners learning and producing healthy learners for building a strong society.
