Krowor MP Organises fun games to climax kplejoo festival

For the first time in many years, the People of Nungua heaved a sigh of relief as the Member of Parliament for Krowor Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey organized a fun games at the Nungua Nshonaa on Tuesday (July 6, 2021).



The Fun Games which included Regatta, eating competition, tug of peace, fill in bottles amongst her Constituents, made up of old men and women and the youth, was to climax the week long Nungua Kplejoo Festival.

The Regatta competition which was participated by 5 teams including Kaata Onyehe, Yes Cocoa, Kokrobite bi, Accra 11, and O.D.O saw Yes Cocoa emerging victorious and winning the ultimate prize of a Cup, medals, drinks and a cash prize.

Winners of other competitions in the fun games, that drew scores of people to the Nungua Nshonnaa were also rewarded with assorted drinks, and a cash prize.

Addressing the media after the Fun Games, Hon. Naa Momo Lartey stressed that her priority is to bring back and rejuvenate the Kplejoo home coming which until her time as MP has been non-existent for some years now.

In that regard, the hard working MP indicated that she is investing in the people of Krowor and Nungua for that matter through fun games like this in order to resonate the homecoming amongst the youth and the elderly as well as foster camaraderie amongst each other.

“We’ve re-created the Kplejoo Homecoming. I quite remember a lot of comments when we got to town. Most of the people were saying it’s been so many decades since I saw this happening”, Hon. Momo Lartey stressed.

She added that “ for me it was gratifying, it was satisfactory that the elderly people are seeing that thing happening again before they retire from active work”.

The MP who revealed later that she has set up a Sanitation unit to deal with waste management in the Constituency also appealed to the media to support her achieve her developmental vision for the Constituency.

She also advised the youth of her Constituency to eschew “ the get rich quick” mentality and strive hard to make it through legitimate means adding that there is a lot she has for them in terms of job creation.

Present at the event to support the MP include the Vice and Chairman of the Constituency Mr.James Kotey and Mr. Bortey, the media Liaison of the MP, Mr. Paul Quaye among others
