The FOOD AND DRUGS BOARD AUTHORITY,, (FDA) launched a program for the street food vendors,, called "NO STREET FOOD VENDING PERMIT, NO BUSINESS.
This is to alert all those who sells food on the street ,to go for their permit and training from FDA, to ensure the safety of consumers who buys food from the street food vendors.
Steps To Obtain The Street Food Vending Permit:
1. Purchase and complete the street food vendor form (FDA/FSM/FOR/-18) for Gh¢5 or download from www.fdaghana.gov.gh for free. This form may also be completed and submitted on the vendors behalf by the Inspectors.
2. Copies of health certificates for workers at the food preparation site and/or where the food is solid or vending site should be made available.
3. Business operating permit/Temporary structure permit where applicable should be available.
4. Free training in Good Hygiene practices for vendors and inspection of both the preparation and the vending site will be conducted.
5. A street food vending permit which is valid for a year, compliance stars and free Veronica buckets will be issued when vendor is approved.
The Event took place on the 3rd November, 2021 at the Osu Presby Church Hall, Osu-Accra.
Some Vendors that have been were awarded with Veronica buckets .
