Just Tell the People the Truth about your undertaking and Stop the Blame Game


UNDERTAKING

We the undersigned Chiefs and Traditional Leaders from the Teshie Traditional Area hereby pledge our support for the maintenance of Peace before, during and after the celebration of the 2022 Homowo.

Should there be a breach of peace in the Traditional Area, we should be held responsible for that action.

We further pledge that we will abide by the following agreements.  

1.  Both Wolomei on both sides from both factions should be confined in their various house for the performance of rites preceding the Homowo.


2.  There should be no firing of arms, musketry or any form of weapon before, during and after the Homowo.


3. All rites and the sprinkling of Kpokpoi  should be done in their various quarters.


4. No hiring of thugs or vigilantes to assist them in any rites.


5. The Security and Intelligence Agencies should protect both wolomei from moving out of their place of abode.


6. No member of both parties should step foot at the shrine and both should stay 500meters away from the shrine.


7. The Security and Intelligence Agencies should secure the wolomei in their houses during the homowo celebration.


8. The Security and Intelligence Agencies should secure the shrine 24hrs before the commencement of the festival.


9. The Security and Intelligence agencies led by the Regional Police Commander shall provide security in the performance of the Gbemila rites preceding the homowo celebration. Any other security personnel who have not been assigned should stay away during the performance of the Gbemila rites.


10. Both wolomei should not perform the Gbemila


11. There is no formal notification from the Regional House of Chiefs that there is a youth chief, therefore the youth chief cannot hold himself as such. Both he and his assigns and privies are to desist from  the performance of any rites preceding to the homowo celebration.


12. With reference to suit No.GJ/1065/2022 at the high court presided by Justice Ernest Yao Gaewu, “restraining all parties from doing anything that will compromise the case before the court”. However, REGSEC is not against the celebration of homowo but it’s being guided by the order of the court.
