Pick up phone calls or you become useless after losing power: Ghana Airforce Imam Advices Politicians.

Story Reported by Gideon Kotey

A week a go, Flt Lieutenant Imam Mochaourodeen Maiga advised politicians to pick up their phone calls whenever their constituents call on them for support. He was speaking at the Imam Baqir (a.s) Islamic Center, Nima-441 in a program organized to mark the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (a.s) the successor and brother of the Holy prophet of Islam (sawa).

Speaking on the leadership responsibilities of Imam Ali (a.s), the Ghana Airforce Imam said that a leader does not always wait to be called by the lead but he checks-up on them almost every day to find out if they were in a better living conditions again find more solutions to their difficulties. He also called on the youth to simulate Imam Ali (a.s) in sacrificing their lives for community development and the Islamic Ummah as a whole.

Imam Maiga argued that there are muslim-graduates  in the Zongo communities who have  been calling politicians in order to assist them in their political development through jobs and other related issues. But these politicians avoid the very people who fought for them in their victory to win and get political power. He also called on the Chairman of the occasion Sheikh Mr. Mohammed Abu Jaja to join him to fight this issue of negligence in the muslim communities because politicians use the youth for their political gains and interest but avoid them after they are successful in life through political victory.

It is not clear if the Ghana Airforce Imam was directing his speech to the politicians who were present and among the honorable guests for the occasion. Dignitaries who grace the occasion were the Head of Islamic Affairs at the office of the President John Dramani Mahama(Alhaji Ltn-Col,Umar Sanda Ahmed), Abdul Aziz Futa the NPP National Nasara Cordinator, the Ayawaso North Member of Parliament Honourable Yusif Jaja Issaka and some electoral area Assembly representatives.

The organisers of the program were Shia-Muslims who believed that Imam Ali (a.s) is the first successor of the Holy Prophet Mohamad and that the Household of the Holy Prophet Mohammad are pure and infallibles based on the Quranic and Sunni Teachings of the Prophet of Islam which was pro-claimed on several occasions since revelation till his last call to Allah in Medina in Saudi-Arabia.

Henceforth, the program was organized to mark the birth anniversary of Imam Ali who was born in the sacred place inside the Kaba. Imam Ali is respected by both Ahmadis and Sunni Muslims for his honesty, belief, courage, knowledge, loyalty to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and his devotion to Islam.

Moreover, the Imam Baqir (a.s) Islamic Center is a Shia based Organisation which promote Islamic values, morals, Islamic teachings and community development. Based in Accra-Nima, this organization embarks on several programs to educate the Ghanaian Youth on their love for each other, patriotism, they also run entrepreneur programs to equip the youth with skills that would make them relevant in the society.
