*OSUDOKU DJAASETSE EXTENDS ELECTRICITY, FIXED TELECOM CHALLENGES*

The Chief of Manya and Djaasetse of the Paramouncy, Osudoku Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region, Nene Tetteh Hwazo ll has  funded electrification project to Apakye community and fixed telecommunications network challenges.


Nene Hwazo ll, member of the Ga, Dangme council of elders has lobbied and funded for extension of electricity to Apakye community in Osudoku, installed new transformer, change high-tension cables by the Tema Electricity Company of Ghana  (ECG) to solve the erratic power supply challenges in Osuwem and it's environs.


Osuwem, Lanor communities for over 10-years experienced unreliable supply of electricity resulting in outages and poor voltage trips.


Nene Hwazo ll said the situation has lighted households and in Osuwem, Lanor and other communities.

Mr. Alfred Kwabena Daleku, Unit committee member said the changes of high-tension cables and the new transformer had come at an opportune time because they had ended constant outages in a long while.


According to him, the Osuwem, Lanor communities experienced outages which often extended more than 24 hours. 


He added that Nene Tetteh Hwazo ll reached out to the Tema regional manager and expressed their frustrations which  resulted the ECG to change weak cables, installed new transformer and extended the grid to Apakye community to resolved lighting problems.

Nene Hwazo ll spoke against emerging chieftancy conflict in Osudoku Traditional Area, saying that it is not how the paramouncy  should be struggling in development. He however called on the National House of Chiefs to appoint experienced Chiefs to address Osudoku Traditional Area conflicts situation.


He expressed the need for strong collaboration between the Chiefs and the government to accelerate development in Osudoku Traditional Area.


Nene Martey Anumle, family head of the Osudoku Traditional Area  Paramount Chief and the residents has expressed gratitude to Nene Hwazo ll to extend the grid to Apakye community.


Telecommunication Network Project 


The residents of Osuwem have heaved a sigh of relief over the improved telecommunication network in the community and surrounding areas.


The residents of Osuwem say access to reliable network had been a major challenges over the years as it was difficult to receive and make calls, as well as surf the internet.


That, they said, affected businesses, economic activities, research work by students, teachers and other professionals who lived in Osuwem.


However, they were extremely excited when Nene Tetteh Hwazo ll facilitated the installation of the telecommunication mast to resolved the problems.


The residents said they had lost business customers over the years due to the bad network in the town and that the improved connectivity would boost the local economy.


Mr. Daleku Kwabena said  he sometimes had to stand at a particular point to access better network, making it worrisome to reach out for help times of difficulty.


The residents has expressed gratitude to Nene Hwazo ll for his continues fight to  ensure  Osudoku communities had improved accessibility to telecommunications network and other developmental projects.
