Zoomlion Embarks on Medical Waste Collection Sensitization Exercise Nationwide

This project has started in municipal and district assemblies in these two regions respectively 

Hospitals in these regions are going to benefit from this project without paying anything to the organization in this fight against the infectious covid- 19 disease 

As part of the process Zoomlion Ghana as already sent their staff to this regions thus Eastern , Volta and Oti Region respectively to register hospitals within the beneficiary District assemblies for the mass distribution to take place 

With this initiative Zoomlion is looking at distributing millions of waste bins to this hospitals in various districts city or town across the country 

At media briefing at Jasikan District Hospital, Ing Senam Tenge said, their target is to distribute a million waste bins to support the covid - 19 vaccination process in other to maintain proper hygiene and not to spread the disease or other infectious disease 

Zoomlion in partnership with School of Hygiene Volta Region are distributing two dust bins(one for General waste and a separate one for Medical Waste management) 

With a medical waste Van, the used  disposed waste is being transported to a sterilization factory in Accra to sterilize it so it doesn't infect anyone 

He added that hospital are places that are highly regulated in terms of safety and disease infectious control, so in other to facilitate this principle, we are edging them to make sure that they dispose the needles and everything that may cause harm to them 

With this support from Zoomlion it's going to make our task very easy and safe she said 

Our target for the second vaccination is 1880 for health workers,  individual and other organizations she said 

She also assured the people they are going to make sure that anyone that is due for vaccination will be vaccinated within the stipulated days for this exercise 

Furthermore ,Dept Public Director of Health Senanu Djokoto also commended Zoomlion for their Humanitarian job in supporting them with this waste, he went on to educate the populis that they will get the second dose of the vaccine in Ho municipal, Hohoe and Kpando 

He added we are looking forward to end this exercise in the next 3weeks

In conclusion the health directors across the  regions thanked and  assured Zoomlion that they will use the new equipment properly and safely
