Breast Cancer Can be Hereditary But not Spiritual...... Dr Gladys Norley Ashittey Laments

The Month of October has been  a remarkable month for breast cancer awareness, breast cancer has been an existence for ages therefore we use only one month in the whole year which is October to create awareness for the world to check their status concerning breast cancer. 


In an exclusive interview with the media Dr Gladys Norley Ashittey, a former MP for Ledzokuku and Dept. Minister of Health shared her thoughts concerning breast cancer and how to prevent it.


Dr Norley Ashittey is a health specialist, according to her she said the cause of breast cancer has not been founded yet through scientific research, and most of our women has been affected with it. But we can prevent it by help create awareness so that people can regularly visit the health centers to do check up and take precautions.


She said breast cancer can affect every body including the men but mostly the women are the majority whose lives and health are in stake concerning breast cancer issues. 


According Former Member of Parliament, a regular basic breast cancer affect the women at the age of forty to fifty years, that is mandatory period that every woman need to go to the hospital to do check up but now things have changed, breast cancer can affect every woman even in the tender age.


"But ideally, from fifty years upwards, every woman need to see her doctor every two  years or even lesser than that, and even we can check it ourselves in our comfort zone to see if there's any strange thing in the breast, so that one can visit the health center for early treatment, and that will help prevent every woman to affected with breast cancer, Dr Gladys Norley Ashittey Lamented.


She went on to advise religious leaders that breast cancer is not a spiritual diseases so the right place to visit to seek for solutions to a breast cancer disease should only be health facilities


Dr Norley send a message to all women and all religious leaders across Africa and she explained that breast cancer is not a spiritual disease but rather physical thing that need to be treated by the doctors.


She also said that mostly when one is affected with breast cancer instead of that person to visit the hospital for treatment then they visit religious centers for solutions must be stop.


Breast cancer can be hereditary from a relative but scientific research hasn't proved the main cause of it, the former Dept Health Miniter answers a question from a journalist who asked the cause of breast cancer. 


She also send advice the everyone including the men that whenever you find any strange thing in your breast quickly rush to the hospital for check up and get assistance  or treatment immediately. 


She concluded by saying that we need to help spread the awareness to every corner in the country to help defeat breast cancer.
